Joseph's Story
Hello fellow classmates of Grants High School 1979 and other friends. Life sure hasn't turned out like I would of expected it to in 1979, but it has been a remarkable journey, none the less. Right after graduation, I worked for NL Baroid for a year and a half and went to school part time at NMSU Branch college, in Grants. I then went to Oklahoma State Unv. for 2 semesters. I came back to Milan, started working and married Debbie Barnes. Eight years and 4 kids later, we divorced in 1991. Then in 1993, I was injured at work from a fall that eventually left me paralyzed fron the waist down. A T8 para. After rehab in Roswell, I moved to Albuquerque for 4 years. o be closer to my kids and be a everyday part of there lives. In 2001, I got my Assoc. Degree in Soc./Psych. from Carl Albert State College in Poteau, Oklahoma. I then started working part time for Walmart in 2003. In 2006, I moved to Sallisaw, Oklahoma, where I am buying a nice house, and transfered up the the Walmart up in Sallisaw, where I still continue to work today. Despite having to use this wheelchair, I have a wonderful life here in Sallisaw, with good friends, a great family, wonderful kids and grandkids. 9 grankids, 3 step grandkid, and one grandkid on the way. I belong to a exciting church in First Baptist Church, Sallisaw, where despite being just an average guitar player, I play acoustic guitar for our raq tag praise and worship band. I have stayed single all of these years, after my divorce.
