Life After graduation I decided to further polish the architectual drafting skills Mr. Powell managed to beat into me with an Associates Degree from Trinidad Junior College in 1966. Uncle SAM then decided I needed to spend a couple of years in and around (then) South Vietnam. In 1968 I returned to good old Colo. Spgs., and went to work for Hewlett Packard. That's the company who produced the computer I'm now using. In 1970 this missionary priest came to town, put on an impressive slide show about the missionary work in Southern Mexico. He was really looking for donations but I stepped up to the plate and said, "take me". You know, like that Donkey character in Shrek. So I spent two very rewarding and interesting years in a small village in the Southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. I didn't do any preaching, Lord knows, the Vatican would never have recovered from my heathen ways. I did however design and build a medical clinic along with other projects in another village. Sort of unofficial "Peace Corp" type work. That's where I met my wife who was a nurse in the village. We didn't like each other much at first but then after nearly two years of me and my mud and bricks and accompanying her around the village making sick calls; well, one thing led to another.
