Joseph's Story

Well, where should I start. Right after high school I went to Columbus State University and wasted my time. I was also working with the Post Office. I stayed in Columbus for about 3 years before I realized that my life would be wasted if I did not leave C-Town. I decided to move myself to Atlanta. Once I got to Atlanta, I worked full time with the Post Office and went to school once again and wasted my time. (School just was not for me.) While I was in Atlanta I got home sick quite often because I did not have any friends in Atlanta. A lot of my weekends were spent in Columbus. Around 1994 Jeff Walker (Bodine) got out of the Army and he decided to move to Atlanta. We became roommates. Once we became roommates, thats when all the fun started. We wanted to get the rest of our boys up to Atlanta because we knew Columbus was a dead end. Once the fellas got up to Atlanta my weekends in Columbus was over. We were living it up in Atlanta. The fun had to slow down and I had to be serious about what I wanted to do with my life. In 1996, I decided to work for Bank of America which was a good move on my part. Bank of America has given me several career growth opportunities. I grew with the co...Expand for more
mpany and received several promotions throughout the years. I am still with Bank of America and I am a Vice President of Service & Fulfillment Operations. I must say I am doing quite well. I have been blessed. I am responsible for about 60 associates. I love leading and coaching people. Remember when I said School was not for me. Well I am back in School. I am currently a Senior at Clayton State University and will be graduating in the spring with a Bachlors in Business Management. I can't wait. I didn't realize how important school was until I found out that you can only get so far without a degree. (In the corporate world). I am not married but I do have a beautiful little girl who will be 15 in August. (Damn I'm getting old). I currently live in Ellenwood (outside of Atlanta) in a beautiful house. All the fellas are doing good, even the ones that did not make it in Atlanta and got shipped back to C-town. That much pretty much sums up my life up to this point. I am excited about the future because I know I have so much to look forward to. I will keep everyone posted. I am on classmates to reconnect with all of you. So please send me a message and let me know how you are doing.
