Joseph's Story
Life
Hello to all you cowboys and cowgirls...
After graduation and realizing how many classes I blew off, I took some make up classes at Cass Tech to get into college where I Studied machine design.
When we were in high school and Mr Battistone gave us an aptitude test, with my results showing that I was artistic. I remember telling him I thought the test was a bunch of :(
to which he replied; Joseph someday this will show up in your life. My first aptitude was my artistic ability and second was mechanical...
So, I went to a small local school and became a tool
designer.
After several years of working as a machine designer and doing photography as a second income, I became so frustrated doing such boring work that I said my prayer of agony..."O Lord there has to be something else in life besides just making money..."
The following week, I responded to an add for a photographer at JL Hudsons downtown Detroit and got hired and I loved it.
However the money was not enough ...Expand for more
to keep us in daily necessities, so I left to start my own studio and now have been self employed ever since. I have my dream studio where I photograph:people, places and things.
The studio is in Dearborn Hgts on Warren Street just east of Beech Daly.
In addition I have an art exhibit that travels around the country and the title of the exhibit is called "From The Light"
People ask me when I will retire? To which I reply, "to do what? I have been and continue to do what has always been my passion...
Still married to Gail Fugate, we have a son Paul who is also a photographer. See his lovely web site at PaulKubek.com. Our daughter Anne is a Vice president at Borders Books and Music and works out of Ann Arbor but travels the world.
