Joseph's Story
Life
I went away to York Christian College in York,Nebraska for a semester but quickly realized that Nebraska winters weren't for me.I came home and went to WKU for 3 semesters but concentrated more on having a good time than on my studies. In 1985 I had a job opportunity that took me to Port Charlotte ,Florida.I spent the next 10 years managing and supervising in the hospitality field.I moved all over Florida and made several trips out of the country. In 1996 I moved back home to BG.In 1997 I met the person I thought was my soulmate and got married about a year or so later.
We started a service business in 2001.Things were going very well for us (businesswise anyway.LOL)but unfortunately in 2006 my wife and I got a divorce.I lost very much at that point including a large part of myself.Looking back I now realize that the only truly valuable thing I lost was my stepson Brandon.I love him very much and regardless of where I am he will always hold a special place in my heart.
I now find myself starting all over again. It is sort of sad but is also kind of exciting in it's own way.I talked to someone once who had lost their home to a tornado.I will always remember them speaking of how devastating that was but after finally accepting the loss that the rebuilding process was really fun.It gave them that chance to do things differently that they would probably never have had without experiencing the loss in the first place.I view my current place in life the same way.I spent a large por...Expand for more
tion of my life trying to get to a certain point thinking that there was always a finite stopping point.I now realize that life is truly a journey that is meant to be experienced from start to finish rather than lived only to get to a certain place.
School
Melinda Lewis White was probably my biggest crush and was also my favorite teacher although we didnt often get along.I will always remember hanging out with Brad Montgomery and Jeff Barber(now theres a pair to draw to ! lol.)Especially the time we shot up half of Plano trying to kill groundhogs) I remember Barclay Riley's displeasure with Jeff Barber and I over us trying to get some of the girls to sneak out to meet us at the old mall to dance at Finallys.I remember some of the special people there who I admired a lot but never had the opportunity to hang out with.Pete Monk ,Tim Alexander,Linda Guyton,Riley Keown,Jeff Harris and a few more like them.I never realized how truly great you guys were until I got out in the world and found out there werent many like you around.
I have several fond memories of my time at Potter but still wish I would have realized then that I was having as good a time as I actually was. I always thought there was something much greater just around the corner. In a lot of ways I am still like that but now take a little more time to cherish what I have in my life at the moment.I dont check this site often but feel free to send me a message.
