Joseph's Story
Like many of us I had no clue what to do after graduation. Luckily I got involved with the Explorer Scouts at WTVT and somehow scored a job as a camera operator. I started SPJC and work on the same day. It soon became clear to me that I liked work better than school
In 1979 I was hired by ABC and moved to New York. My (then new) girlfriend (currently wife) and her son joined me and we have been here since. to direct.
Its been a great experience traveling and meeting famous or infamous people. And yes, I did eventually have to use geometry as a lighting designer, Thanks Mr. Goldsmith.
I have also been involved in some minor film production, most recently with "The Day the Bread Turned Green"(Google it)which premiered at the 2009 Gasparilla Film Fest.
I have 6 Emmy's and Peabody & DuPont awards for 9/11 coverage.
I am also a Tai Chi Chuan practitioner which I believe has kept me quite healty, try it, you'll like it.
I wish all the best for my old friends and enemies. JP
