Joseph's Story
Life
I was raised in the Bronx (Yankees fan), and moved to WI in November 1952. Started in the 5th grade at the old Mansion (now the Ukrainian Hall?) then to Higbie Lane, then the "new" Junior High, and I think I was in the 2nd class to graduate from the "new" Senior High.
After 7 years of trying, I finally graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a Geologist. Spent a year with a NYC consulting firm, then active duty as an LT in the Corps of Engineers, serving at Ft Belvoir (good) and Vietnam (not-so-good). MS in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering while at a Boston consulting firm for 4 years. Then, my ex-wife dragged me to FL when the Arabs turned off the gas spigot (remember those lines?). After 16 years there (with a great new wife and 2 new jobs), moved to Chicago (climate shock!) for 7 years. In 1997 we came to Baltimore (where we expect to stay). My wife and I now live in the woods west of Baltimore. We have 3 daughters, in NYC, Tampa, and south of Baltimore, but no grandchildren. I still have 3 kid brothers out east on LI, and one nearby in DC (all WI grads).
