Joseph's Story
My wife Patti and I live on a small farm in southern Ia. We have been together 37 yrs. but only legally married 9 yrs. I don't like to rush into things. Between the two of us, we have 3 married children, 14 grandchildren, (one of which we lost when he was two), and one great grandchild. We no longer have horses and ponies, too much work since getting older. I don't really know a thing about farming and have resorted to hiring people to do our hay on shares. ely cover the cost of my smoking, drinking and occasional gambling. Patti has her own Beauty shop which sustains us in a tolerable life style. I was sober for over ten years, but 2016 was for me a terrible year, and I am back to whiskey to tolerate the evenings. In 2016, I lost my younger brother Jim and his wife Sue. The best dog I ever had died on my birthday, and I deal with a lot of guilt over giving up our horses. But don't feel sad for me because overall as the Eagles song goes "Life's been good to me!'
