Josephine's Story
Everyone would be surprized to know I'm not as quiet as I use to be.
My first job was at Reagan Forge, San Pedro where I got paid minimum wage as a timekeeper. What I remember most about it was it was easy and very boring.
I always wanted to be a Dental Assistant when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turned out, I worked for the State Government for forty years.
I relax by dancing and reading.
The wildest thing I ever did in school was ditch once or twice, can't remember.
My parents were my heroes. They were almost perfect.
I lived in Downey for 35 years and two years ago I moved to Ontario, CA but still have family in San Pedro.
From my two daughters and one grandson, I've learned patience.

lion, I'd give a quarter of it to charity, then spend the rest on my children, family and bank the rest for a rainy day.
My first crush and boyfriend was Johnny Piper who I think lives close by in Corona. We went to Leland Street School.
My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet.
I do still dress like I did ten years ago. I don't know how to dress for my (old) age.
At times I see Anita Bautista Torres (her grand nephew is my grand nephew) and keep in touch with Angie Mendoza Blasing. We grew up together and Anita was my neighbor. I love keeping in touch with my school friends. I also see (occasionally) Linda Viramontes Palacios, Rosie Rodriguez Maes, and Cookie Doyle Miller.
