Josh's Story
Life
After college I was working in finance... I didn't really like it and that plus certain events led me to where I am now: the Navy. Right now I am a Sonar Tech on the USS Topeka (a Los Angeles I-class fast attack submarine). Anyway, while I was stationed in Pearl Harbor, I met my wife. Now I'm stationed in San Diego, which is the most beautiful place I've ever lived. I have just finished my second deployment in which I visited Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, Singapore, Japan and Okinaw...Expand for more
a. Got some excellent bottles of Habu Sake, too. I transfer to shore duty in less than a year and will be heading back to Hawaii... probably to stay.
Workplace
I'm currently working as a sonar tech aboard a fast attack submarine. While the job has it's excitement and can sometime be rewarding, I find the working conditions less than tolerable. However, I am currently seeking admission into an officer program with the navy, and hopefull one that will allow me to use my degree.
