Joy's Story
Life
Well, after graduating I worked at the Starke uniform factory for about three months and realized I wanted to do more with my life than be a tape fly operator, lol. So I went to Harding University in Searcy, Ark. to get a Secretarial Science degree and after two years I got a M.R.S degree instead (got married). We went to Africa on a mission trip with a group from the school, for about six weeks. It was a wonderful experience. Came back to the US and hubby wanted to go to Memphis, TN to school of preaching. We were there for only six months and he decided it wasn't for him so we moved to Starke. We had one boy and one girl who are the joy of my life. divorcing after 22 years of marriage. God has definitely been my strength and support and I could not have made it without Him. He seems to never stop an endless supply of challenges each day and I have grown stronger and more faithful. I moved from Tallahassee to Melrose to help my dad with my mom who was very ill.
My son is married and in the Marines and will be getting out in March of 2013. He and his wife will be moving to Ocala, FL to go to school. My daughter is a massage therapist and living in Gainesville, FL. Life is good and one of my favorite sayings is off of a baseball hat my mother gave to me a few years ago that says, "When God closes a door, He opens a window." I love that!
