Joy's Story
Life
Bobby and I got married in June of 1996, right after I graduated from OCCC with an AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology. I started working for IBM in Poughkeepsie that same summer as a Mainframe Technician. I was also teaching (Imagine me up in front of a group of people teaching!) Digital Electronics and Basic Electricity Labs at OCCC.
Michael was born in April 1999. After 10 months of insanity and upset which included three different hospitals, brain surgery to remove a turmor the size of a baseball, chemotherapy and radiation Bobby died of a recurrance of brain/spinal cord cancer November 2002. Our daughter Jordan was two months old when he died.

r me and I placed an ad on Yahoo Personals. I met Steve in July of 03. We met for the first time in front of Wal-Mart so Michael to this day thinks we "bought" him there. Some days he asks if we can take him back. :) We got married in May of 04 and moved to Marlboro. We now live in the house where Steve grew up. We started renovations on the house even before we moved in. Alisa was born September 2004. I went back to work at IBM as a contractor in June of 07. Second shift is rough on family life...so I'm going back to Dutchess and starting to get a degree in Teaching Math at the Middle and High School level. This way I'm on the same schedule as the rest of my family and we can enjoy summers together rather than the kids spending the time in day care. I hope all is well with you & yours. Take care! Joy
