Joy's Story
Life
I teach fifth grade in the North Penn School District. I was teaching in Philly for 18 years [16 yrs. in the catholic (CORA Sevices) and 2 in public]. I decided not to travel to work anymore so now I stay in Lansdale (North Penn School District). I have one son, Kevin, who is 24 years old. I became a widow suddenly in 2000. Now I send as much time as I can with my family and friends. I have been traveling over the country with my son and second husband whenever we can.
I have a special person in my life and his name is John. We met 11/18/06. I don't know what I would do without him. I attended Cabrini College ...Expand for more
and received my Master's in Education in December 2009. Way back in 1984 when I was only making $9,000 for teaching at CORA Services, I would have never thought I would have been able to get my Master's degree. Things have come a long way!
My son was inducted into the US Naval Academy and we are empty nesters. We are so proud of Kevin! June 30, 2011 was a bitter-sweet day for many people in my family and for many of Kevin's friends. John and I attend all the home football games since we are season ticket holders at the Academy.
Kevin now is a Lieutenant Junior in the US Navy and flies P-8s.
