Joy's Story
Where do I start? After graduation, I went to college. Cheered, ran cross-country, was an ambassador, joined a sorority, got a degree in p.e.(who would have ever guessed in high school I'd do that?), got married my last year of school. Started teaching p.e., started racing competitively, somehow found the time to squeeze in the birth of 3 kids. Moved to Rockmart,GA, divorced, remarried, got my master's degree, had one more child and moved to Rome. Continued racing competitively, then discovered road cycling and mountain biking. Due to a hereditary liver disorder had to have a liver transplant in May 2006, was back on a bike 3 weeks later. Found out four months later I needed another transplant-bummer. Still waiting but doing great. Life is good.

p-daughters are in TX and have great careers and wonderful men in their lives. I am so very fortunate to have such wonderful children that God has allowed me to care for and continues to allow me to share so many special moments and memories with. I don't ever want to take a single day with them for granted!
I have two awesome house dogs we refer to as "the boys". One 110lb weimer. and a 100lb black lab who goes just about everywhere with me. I also have a cat-Toloose that loves to tease our dogs as she knows she is totally "untouchable" or their in BIG trouble!
My life is nothing like I had imagined it would be in high school (I thought I was going to be a choreographer living in some penthouse in a big city-lol). There's been a lot of ups and downs but thus far has been far richer and fuller than anything I could have imagined. If I died today, I could truly say I have lived more life than most do in 100 years.
I'm back in FL waiting for my second transplant. Missing my familyand friends but looking forward to many happy and healthy days ahead!
That's a pretty good summary of it all. Pictures? They're on Facebook under Joy Collum.
