Joyce's Story
Life
When raising kids, had the menagerie. Cats, goldfish, WOLF, Finches, Cockatiel (for years, very cool, but she ate ALL the buttons off of ALL the remotes) quarter turtles, now down to one kid in college, and two fish in one gallon. I container garden for the grandkids. Apple tree, strawberries, TOMATOES, Gooseberries, peppers, grapes, they just run around my yard and eat. No tilling, I live in CLAYPOOL, and it is clay! In the winter, I'm Lego's and Barbie. Remodeling a money pit. Historical (registered), Queen Anne, found 3 headstones in yard, layed down as steps. Whoops, we picked em up! I LOVE Antiques roadshow (and cringe at what I've thrown away) Wood, and Traditional/French Decor. Cooking in the winter, I make a killer Manicotti, summer is bologna! and fresh fruit!
School
I had a new crush every month. Mr. Bishop, 6th grade, was very cool, and still did his job. He PERSONALLY dug up 2 tree sapplings, for our class to plant in front of school (and someone threw the earthworms in my hair) today, they are beautiful. We "conned" him into buying a live Christmas tree (out of his own pocket), we decorated with 'bring in's' and construction paper cha...Expand for more
ins. One day, after noon recess, the whole class, went and hid in the basement. Had great conversation after about how when the bell rang, HE DIDN'T HAVE ONE KID, he had to come find us. One Monday morning, he opened class with a story about he went ice fishing over the weekend, in an ice fishing house. While sitting inside, the house started to move, the door was jammed shut. SOMEONE drug his house (and him) across the lake. A trio of 6th grade boys had a good laugh, and so did he. Woodshop in high school, for a girl, back then, was cool. So cool, someone stole my final (finished) project. Must of been good!
Workplace
Heather's Ice cream in high school was fun. 7 years as a desk clerk, fun, drama, police, witness. People on the run stay in Hotels. Pay was bad, and working HOLIDAYS! 90 day stint as switchboard operator National city bank, fun, pay was bad. Did a wood shop stint for bout 9 mo. learned a lot! I make a good wood finish! I found myself working 19 years inspection. Warsaw Orthopedic, Craftech, Biomet, Hughes Aircraft, Midwest Spring, Medtronic as a temp, then Zimmer as a temp, back at Medtronic. I can find fly poop in a pile of pepper!
