Joyce's Story
Life
My life since 1961 has been fun, frustrating, fulfilling and fascinating; well, to me anyway! I married in 1962, divorced in 1967; remarried in 1969, widowed in 1993; remarried in 1996. My husband (the last one!) and I have a "blended" family of ten children (counting daughters/sons-in-law) and 14 grandchildren! Christmas at our house is quite a scene. I've been a legal secretary/assistant since 1967 and have worked with my current boss, Tom Mills, 16+ years. He is a criminal defense law specialist and we've had some very exciting cases, including School Board Trustee Dan Peavy, the Republic of Texas "Ambassador General" Richard McLaren, and Gary Karr, in the Madalyn Murray O'Hair kidnapping and extortion case. nt than I ever have. I am a member of the Dallas Tap Dazzlers, a tap dance company, made up of women ranging in age from 55-78. We performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2000. Who'd a thunk a bunch of "old" ladies would manage such a fete. My greatest accomplishment, though, is after 30 years of running the streets, drinking and raising "H," I have returned to church and have become an active Christian and have found a peace that only God can provide. For that, I'm truly thankful. And, finally, I'm also co-chair of our High School Reunion Committee. If you missed the 40th Reunion in September, 2001, be sure to plan on attending the 45th in 2006.
