Joyce's Story
After reflecting back upon the past years since graduation, I realize that I have been very fortunate and I'm grateful for most of my life's experiences, the bad as well as the good. They have all been for a reason and have made me stronger.
I attended Peabody, Belmont and Vol State colleges and have a CPS(Certified Professional Secretary), a certification of which I am extremely proud. Having worked most of my life as an administrative secretary, I am now taking life a little easier. I am single again, for the last fourteen years, & have no children. I do have two small poodles who keep me busy. I live on Old Hickory Lake and have for the last twenty years. I enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and the beautiful sunsets across the water.
In the early seventies, I learned to fly a Cessna 150 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was such a thrill but so relaxing. I'll never forget the day I first soloed. I could go on and on about my flying escapades, but I'll refrain. Although, I am rusty on flying right now, one day I would like to get back into flying.
In 1982, I was a contestant in the Mrs. Tennssee contest, which was very exciting and quite an experience.
I've enjoyed entering cooking contests over the years. I have won blue ribbons in the Sumner County contest and one in the Hamilton County Fair one year. I really love cooking.

ocal ones. I also love to travel and take advantage of every chance I get to go places I haven't yet been.
I look forward to hearing from fellow classmates and their present and past life happenings.
Update: I have been very busy lately, moving across the lake. I am now living at Beacon Hill condos in Mt. Juliet. I still have a gorgeous view of the lake in a very quiet setting. I did not get to go to the school reunion this year but hope to next year. I'll be doing another update very soon. Update: I have moved again! I decided that condo living was not for me, so I have moved further out into Mt. Juliet, back to a house. I like the quiet neighborhood and enjoy living here very much. I still have my two dogs with me and enjoy a good peaceful life with them. I still go dancing and enjoy visiting with my friends. I'm looking forward to hearing from many of my old friends from good old CHS. UPDATE: I only have one dog now, as I had to have one of them put to sleep. She was just like my daughter and I really do miss her very much. I just attended another class reunion and enjoyed it very much. It was certainly a very special event and very memorable.
I hope my school friends don't remember me as quiet and shy as I was in school. I've come out of my shell now and love to talk and have fun. I would love to communicate with some of the old Central gang now & then.
