Joyce's Story

I met my husband when I was working for an oil and gas company in Charleston in 1980. We married in 1985 and I relocated to Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania (just south of Erie). We relocated to Boston, MA in 1988. I had my first child (Matt) in 1990 and my second (Emily) in 1991. We relocated to Houston in 2003. We are currently living in Seabrook (which is just south of Houston near NASA). Like many of you, my likes and dislikes changed after becoming a parent. My son became interested in ice hockey living in New England and has played now for many years. My daughter is a swimmer. She was on the High School Varsity Swim Team until she injured her shoulder. She now swims, but only for exercise. I am somewhat "obsessed" with what is happening with our Country right now (at least my family and friends think so). I guess you could say that I have become quite conservative in my old age. I have come to the conclusion that I can no longer just sit on the sidelines, I have to be vocal. ndependent nature of most of the people I meet. Obviously this is in direct contrast to the environment in the Boston area. Don't get me wrong, I loved the time I spent in New England, and I believe it was necessary for me to have experienced that time in my life. As far as my career, I worked as a paralegal for many, many years. I specialized in residential real estate. After moving to Texas I worked as an Escrow Officer, and for 2 years I was the Branch Manager for a Title Company here in Houston. That company closed when the industry started sagging a bit. . . . It's been awhile since last writing. Both my children are now in college, so I decided I needed to start doing something for myself. I am currently working on obtaining my real estate license. I am scheduled to take my State Test. Wish me luck. I'll be back . . . :) 10/09 Well I just passed my Licensing tests. Woo Hoo I will begin working with The Prudential Gary Greene Realtors after I get my license. On to another chapter in my life. 10/17/09 It's official. I'm a licensed real estate agent. Woo Hoo. Let me sell you a house!! :)
