Juanita's Story

While I graduated from Westminster High School in 1964, I attended North High School in Denver, CO my Sophomore and Junior years, 1962 and 1963. I am in the 1962 Yearbook but not the 1963 Yearbook except for my picture as part of the ROTC Honorary Cadet team. Life has been good! Married, divorced, one fantastic son. What started as a "temporary" job at Western Electric turned into a fantastic 30 year career with WE, Bell Labs, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and any other names the company may have had! I held several technical positions during my employment. In 1988 I was given the opportunity to transfer to Nashville, TN for a new position. This also gave me the chance to work with the Gatlin Brothers Fan Club. I loved Nashville, but after 5 years it was time to come home so I transferred back. ployment in Nashville and my work with the Gatlin's, I've been able to do a lot of domestic traveling. I took early retirement in 1999 and have enjoyed every minute! For fun and relaxation, many trips were to NV although I don't go much anymore. Now I find myself living in my own house on the property my son and his family bought 5 years ago. Never thought at my age I'd be mowing weeds, gardening on a somewhat larger scale than I would need, shoveling snow and running the snowblower along with taking care of the barn cats, among other chores. I'm thankful that I am still healthy so I can do everything! I also have two cats who live with me so of course I take care of them too. It's great living here with my son, my daughter in law and my 3 grandkids, the oldest who just turned 16! Not only has life been good, it still is!
