Juanita's Story
The 59 year HS reunion is coming up Sept. 26, 2015 so that means I'm getting older. Not old, I say, just older. After graduating from VHS I spent 4 yrs. at SEMO graduating with a a teaching degree and an emphasis in art. I met my husband Sam in college and we spent 30 years teaching in DeSoto,MO; me HS Art and Sam Jr. High Counseling. We raised our boys in DeSoto with Bryan(42) earning a BSE from SEMO and Todd (37) a ParmD from STILCop in St. Louis. Definitely proud of both. build a house in my hometown of Ste. Genevieve and I'm now part of the local art and history scene; practicing what I preached for 30 by showing my art work at local galleries.. I've traveled extensively in Europe and go back and forth often to not only tour but to stay with and enjoy family and friends, primarily, in Germany. The kids and I also travel a lot here in the states as well as Europe. So time moves on and I don't let much grass grow under me. As Sam used to say, "if you don't have your health you don't have anything".... so it's time to go and do as one never knows when ones' health will fail. It happens in a heartbeat.
