Life
My Story (Updated):
I got new facts from one of my sisters who visited us in California recently and have to modify my story with some additional details.....
I was born in New York city and when I was 3 years old my mother remarried and we moved temporarily to Cuba. When I was 4 years old we moved to Puerto Rico. I lived there until I was in 8th grade.
My stepfather was from Havana Cuba and I never knew my real father who was also Cuban. My stepfather's family had a family owned rum business and a tobacco distributorship in P.R.and we lived a very upscale lifestyle by the ocean.
They were six children in the Tristani family and I was the oldest. My sisters were: Teresa, Patricia, Minnie, (Herminia) Gina and Felix. We moved to Miami, Fla.in or around mid - 1964 and I attended St. Michaels where we lived in Coral Gables for 1 year.
I went to Riviera Jr. High for my 9th year. I believe all my sisters and my brother all went to Riviera Jr. High and then to South West.
I went to South West H.S. in 1965 and graduated in 1967. I have very fond memories of my time at S.W.H.S. except for one incident. When I was in 12th grade around December 15th,I was walking to school with a friend (Thompson I think was her last name) and I was involved in a car accident in front of the school. I suffered temporary amnesia but was told that a classmate hit me with her car while driving too fast in the school zone and she drug me a few blocks before stopping. When she finally got over the shock she broke and it threw me unto the road and I suffered a concussion. I was taken to Miami Baptist hospital in a comma, had a whiplash, suffered partial hearing loss and the comma lasted a few months.
Everyone came out of the school to see what was happening on the road that day, December 15, 1966 and I became the most well known student at SWHS that year. I think I had a near death experience and believe I came back for a reason.
Many friends and family came to visit me at Miami Baptist Hospital but I don't remember much only what other people have told me. I graduated in 1967 but barely passed due the loss of memory and the loss of time away from school recuperating but they graduated me anyway and gave me an "A" for effort.
I married a young man from Georgia when I was 20 yrs. old and moved there to live with his family while he was serving in Vietnam. When he got back we lived ...Expand for more
together for a year in Atlanta but he was disloyal and we got divorced. We had a baby boy named Michael and I raised him on my own until he was 6 years old. I was working for U.S. Steel in a downtown highrise near Underground Atlanta.
I met my current spouse, Steven, in 1975 at TGIFridays Restaurant and he was from the Midwest. We moved to Nashville, Tenn. together and lived there for 3 years. Before our move to Tennessee, Michael's father kidnapped him and disappeared to Chicago and I didn't get to see my son for 10 years - the saddest time in my life. When Steve and I got married we vowed to do everything we could to find Michael and he finally found us one day when he was 16 years old and the reunion was tear jerking.
My Spouse
Steven was transferred to St. Louis from Tennesee and went to work for the family owned business Anheuser-Busch. We lived in St. Louis for 7 years and Anheuser-Busch transferred us to California which is were we have remained until today. We have been married for 33 years. He retired with A-B and now has his own law practice.
My Kids
I have only one son, Michael, who grew up in Chicago, Ill. with his father and that's were he was in hiding. Went to college in Tucson, Az. and lived in Boise, Idaho until he moved to Los Angeles and moved in with us and we picked up were we left off. He currently works for Sony Pictures.
My Job
I started two business of my own and they were successful in St. Louis and in Thousand Oaks, Ca. I also worked for Walt Disney Company for about 7 years. Now I am a paralegal, notary, bilingual interpreter and work in my husband's lawfirm - the Law Offices of Steven Trolard & Assoc. We have two offices and work alternately between them. I am also an independent Mary Kay beauty consultant and love makeup, doing facials and makeovers for the ladies and try to stay young that way.If you would like samples, I'll be happy to send some.
Because of the cards that life has dealt to me I am a stronger person with a very different outlook on life and am grateful to be alive and appreciate the little things like having friends and family!
Hope this will inspire people out there and give you hope and understanding. Life is too short to worry or let the little things bother you........
Many people have told me to write a book since I have had so many interesting things happen in my life and maybe one day I will.....
