Life I was married to Peter Herst for 22 years, from 1974-1996. I have two, grown children, Ericka and Nick. I now have 3 amazing, bright & centered grandchildren that I absolutely adore. Family is very important to me and being near them is vital to me. Mostly, I was just everyone's friend or sister-type. My senior year at Lowell, I was "pinned" to a Delta Chi from C.S.U. Fullerton and I was a little sister to that fraternity. My older brother, Steve, was the one who got me involved at the frat' house but I only spent two years there. Even at that young age, the drinking and partying got old. I continued to have fun but I didn't need a keg to enjoy my life anymore. The teacher that was the biggest joy to work with was Mr. Larson. I was a lab assistant for him for a couple of art classes, and he always made me laugh and was full of good advise for my future too. The two that expected the most from me were Ms. Roberdes and Ms. Tearjen; they both had big plans for me! They were convinced that I would become a writer. Ms. Roberdes and Ms. Tearjen were my English teachers for Creative Writing, Poetry, etc. and they both told me that they believed I had a "gift" with words. I still have all of the things I wrote back then and I did write for the next several years, more to express myself and grow personally than for anyone else to read.
