Judi's Story
Life:
2/2/09 Have returned to Cedar City for good. My LTR with Ernie has ended. There was love there but too many differences to make it work. Very difficult decision and sad. I hope we will always be friends. So now I'm putting my life back together and going forward, alone. Tom & Patrick are both here as well. Life goes on, one day at a time. I'm thinking about doing some traveling, maybe to Boise, ID. I don't know what lays ahead but I'm ready to face whatever comes my way, with God's help. Being close to my 2 remaining sons is helping fill the void left by the passing of my middle son, James. It will never be "OK" that he is gone, but I will go on.

I'm still in Cedar City and the passage of time is slowly healing my broken heart and spirit. I had a "run in" with a deer 2 weeks ago (Bambi hit me, then walked away)and my car is suppose to be ready today. Thanksgiving is at Tom & Tracey's house tomorrow and all I have to do is cook the turkey....that'll be a nice change, usually I do it all. Do hope all who stop by have a glorious holiday season with their family, friends and loved ones. Please enjoy every moment, every event in life. We are not promised tomorrow so I encourage all of you to live each day to the fullest. God Bless.
Update: 11/9/08
I am in Cedar City, Utah at my home spending time with my 2 remaining sons and families. This is where I need to be to heal and try to reconnect with the world around me. My middle son James took his life on Oct 22nd and nearly ended mine. Parents are not meant to lose their children and I am struggling with this loss. I know, in my mind, that life must go on but am having a little difficulty reminding my broken heart. That's it for now but I'm sure I will find "me" again. Probably forever changed but still me.

Well, life changes rather quickly sometimes. I have returned to California and my LTR, Ernie and we are planning on being married in Oct. So the home in Utah is now our vacation home and our Hesperia house is our main residence. We have been together 12 yrs as of May 11th (that's longer than 3 of my marriages lasted....lol). We have a lot going for us and I'm content. My family and his are happy for us.
I still love it here in Utah and hope someday that we can move up here, permanently. Hopefully the hou...Expand for more
sing market in CA will turn around after the election....time will tell. Meanwhile, we'll visit up here whenever we can.
Previous entry:
After 57 years in Oct. 2007, I packed up and moved out of California leaving a LTR behind (the good news is, at least I didn't marry this one....lol). I am now making my home in a small town in Southern Utah. I bought a mobile home in a small park 17 miles south of my oldest Tom and his family. Since I lived most of my life in and around the Downey area, it is now quite an adventure discovering my new surroundings. The mountains are beautiful, green trees with red soil (there is a lot of iron in the soil here) hmmmmm, maybe that's why this is called Iron county? What do you think? LOL
Life didn't turn out exactly as I thought it would but God has been good to me. I have 3 handsome grown sons and 3 beautiful granddaughters. Since I raised the boys mostly on my own, we are a close knit family. Their Dad, Tom Shannon (yep my high school sweetheart) passed away in 1993 at the age of 43. There were a lot of trials and tribulations in our 15 yr marriage (he was an alcoholic and drug user)but together we had 3 sons and 1 daughter. My daughter, sad to say wasn't meant to be and we lost her when I was 6 months along. My oldest granddaughter bears her name.
Due to work related injuries which occured in 1991 I am now disabled and living on SSD but I'm doing OK. I've just recently started writing a children's book, which I hope to publish, someday. If it's a success I have ideas for several more. Life is beautiful and I try to make the most out of it. I'm meeting new people here and still trying to stay close to old friends and loved ones (via the internet and telephone).
I found and have reconnected with my long lost sister and brother, both younger than me. My brother Scott was a pro baseball player in Australia and still makes his home there. He visits about once a year and we always hook up. My sister, Holli lives in Lancaster, CA and we talk almost daily. It's so great. Family is everything to me.
Thanks for stopping by. I will try to update this from time to time. If you would like to get in touch, please do so. Old friends are the best. May God watch over you and yours always. If we never meet again, this side of heaven, thanks for being part of my life.
