Paul's Story
Hi All,
I have been retired going on 7 years and live on the beach in Florida. I use to dream of owning a place on the water and now, thank God, it is a reality. It is going on 41 years with my wife Judy whom I met in college in Kansas and we have one son, Daviid, who is married and living in Alexandria, VA and they are expecting their first child....our first grandchild. He works in Washington, D.C. and is doing great at his job.
Since retiring, we have traveled over some of this beautiful universe we live in. Portigual, Spain, Africa, Italy, Panama, Costa Rico, Belize, and other countries we have been able to see and marvel at how beautiful this world has been made. We are planning a trip out West to see the beautiful canyons and since photography is one of my hobbies, I will be taking hundreds of pictures.
Every year Judy and myself come to NJ to visit relatives and friends for a few weeks and this is one of the highlights that I enjoy quite a bit. I love to remember the good old days and I try to get a few of the "guys" together for a night out at Rut's Hut for old time sake. We have heartburn from so many hotdogs, beer, and soda, from that night, that sometimes I wonder if it's worth it, only kidding. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Our biggest gathering was about 12 guys....hopefully there will be more and if we can get some of the "girls" in that gathering, it would be great.
I retired from 27 years of Corrections, Police, and Criminal Investigations for the State of NJ. There were some good times and some bad as well but do to health problems, it was time to call it a day. It seems now those health proble...Expand for more
ms have extended further into our lives but the good Lord has given me (I can truly say) lives of a cat. There aren't any left so it's time to take every day life with a prayer to God that He will give us another day to enjoy His beautiful world. I guess we never realize what He has given us until we find ourselves without the things we use to take for granted and one of them is health. No matter how rich you are.....without health, you can do nothing. Enough of that.
Anyone out there who I graduated with or even those classes before me and after me that I knew, feel free to send me an email. I would love to converse with those from years gone by about the good old days. I have con- versed with people on classmates.com and have had many conversations and enjoyable hours reading about those days gone by with classmates that have graduated before me as well as after me.
Well, I could write for hours but I don't want to bore you any longer so take care to all those from Saint Mary's High School. Stay healthy and may every dream that you have had.....come true.
Sincerely,
Paul Aimone, Class of 1965 P.S. Hopefully someone back in NJ will start the ball rolling for a 50 year reunion. I
I helped put together a 10 and 25 year reunion and I feel those on the committee
did a wonderful job and it was enjoyable as well. I would definitely do my best to
cover the southeast part of the country.....any takers!!!!!!
