Judith's Story

Since graduation in '63, I have furthered my education, which surprises me, because I didn't like school, when I HAD to go. LOL I moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2004, and really missed Wisconsin. I just moved to San Bernardino, CA in Aug., 2008, and now am taking classes in watercolor and acrylic painting. My son Bill, lives about 30 miles from me, so it is nice having him close. I live on the 10th floor in a 12 story apartment building, and have a view of the mountains, that is absolutely gorgeous. In March of this year, I accidently entered a room where there was an audition going on. I was asked "IF" I would like to try out, and I did. Hadn't sang since 2003, but was chosen, and did my first stage performance at Sturges Theater for The Fine Arts in San Bernardino. Since then I joined a group that sings at hospitals and nursing homes. I love the people that we sing to. They are so receptive to our songs, humor and hugs and kisses. I don't know when I have ever been so happy. March 2012, I performed for three years at Sturges, and this I took a break from singing. I have spent more time with my painting and decorating my apartment. Waaaay back, I studied Interior Decorating and it shows in my home. I am about...Expand for more
to become a great-grandmother of a little girl, due April 1st. I only have one grand-daughter and it is hard to think of her being a mother. I am raising Jade trees and find them so beautiful. I am looking to purchase a home, and when I do, I will have a dozen Jade trees and three cats. Don't think I will ever marry, as I have found that the single life appeals to me. Not required to do anything I don't want to do.... LOL Most of the men of my age, are looking for "mothers" to take care of them. Nada........... This August (2016) I moved from (hot, burning) Calif., back to Stoddard, WI It is so peaceful here, no gun shoots, don' have to worry when I drive into town if I am going to be a victim of road rage or initiation for one of the gangs. That is worth going through the upcoming winter. It's been seventeen years since my son and I left Wisconsin. Bill is now married to a wonderful woman and they remained in Calif. I can only hope that they will move back to this part of the country. Haven't been here long enough to really start any hobbies, other than fishing (and I have a lot to relearn when it comes to when and where to fish. Glad to be home. So much has changed, which is good. Viroqua is so grown up.
