Judith's Story
Life
After high school, I worked in banking for a while, then got married, had a son
divorced , worked at various accounting type jobs while going to college
part-time,remarried, , got a degree in Accounting from Georgia State University,
went to work at Ga State in the business office, moved over to
Georgia Tech's accounting department, moved to the College of
Chemistry as Accounting Manager,
got ovarian cancer, recovered,
finally moved to Campus Recreation/Aquatic
Center as Financial Manager/ Associate Department Manager.
I was there for the Olympics in 1996 and during the construction of
the new $44 million new Rec Center completed in 2004.
I retired from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga. last year. Now I work part-time accounting clerk type work for an
internet company that functions as the Human Resource department
for companies that are too small to have their own HR dept.
Last week, I applied for Social Security.
Mostly, I just hang out here in Ea...Expand for more
st Tennessee on our "Farm". We do not grow
anything but hay but we also have creeks, streams,
Tennessee River access,
a bridge, two mountains, hiking trails,
wildlife, 9 dogs , one cat, a Walmart
near by and many good friends in this valley.
We have a couple of Campers, tents, etc. which friends/family stay in
when they come to visit. We have not built a house yet. For the time
being, we live in a single wide trailer that was here on the property
when we bought it.
We attend the local Baptist Church which, on a good day, has about 30
in attendance.
My husband Tim, also retired, is a Vietnam Vet ( Marine Corps) who saw action
at Khe Sanh.
We just have the one son, Rob,married to the lovely Claire, who lives in Marietta, Ga
and works for HP (Hewlett-Packard). They have one son, Bradon, who is
three years old, one fat old cat, and one great dane.
I am over-weight and have white hair but I am just glad to have made it
this far.
