Judith's Story
Life
After college I worked for foundations in New York and as a security analyst for a mutual funds company. When a love affair I thought headed for marriage didn't pan out I dropped everything and went on my own to San Francisco. A year later I met the man I later married, a Czech artist and returned to NYC where we lived la vie Boheme in a loft on the Lower East Side. I got a master's in cousneling from Bank Street College of Education, but before I could land a job in NY we bought a farm upstate and became true back to the landers. We raised animals and a huge garden, and 3 children while building a free form concrete house which grew huge over the next 15 years. elling country homes and farms (largely to metropolitan NY buyers) My husband left me for another woman in 1989 and I enjoyed/suffered 4 independent years before settling in with my present partner. We have a retail store in Andes, NY where we sell handcrafts, clothing and jewelry from around the world. We live above the store (1 19th centruy Victorian storefront building). We are both writing/editing novels in our spare time and travel for a month every year. This year we will probably stay in the U.S. because international travel doesn't seem auspicious right now. My kids all work in NYC. None are yet married. I'm a poor communicator with old classmates, but have a really soft spot in my heart for those early years and the people I knew and loved way back then.
