Judy's Story
I worked for Kaiser Permanente from 1975 - 2004, would have been there longer but my job was eliminated in a management restructure - the best thing that could have happened to me at the time. My last 15 years, I was a manager in the Imaging department - running a radiology file room and a radiology appointment center.
I have just started my 5th year as director and owner of Harmony Road Music Center of Oregon. HRMC is a music school the offers group classes for toddlers (yes, 18 month old kids can learn music) through adult. I started my teaching career at HRMC in 1999 teaching classes for adults and for 8-11 year old beginners. Since 2009 I have expanded my teaching skills to all ages of beginners (except toddlers - they are scary!). My current favorite a...Expand for more
ge group is 6-8. My absolute favorite students are my most advance students who actually practice!. I have several I have taught for 8 1/2 years It is so fun to see them grow-up, mature and become accomplished pianists.
Talk about "small world" coincidences - the woman who wrote this Harmony Road courses went to high school in Clarkston, Washington with one of my cousins.
In addition to teaching piano - I am a Stampin' Up demonstrator. Since I've owned HRMC, I don't have a lot of time to devote to teaching paper crafting but manage to hold one class a month and sell my card in 2 locations in Clackamas County.
My husband and I celebrate our 43rd anniversary this year. We have two adopted sons and are waiting, somewhat, impatiently for grandchildren.
