Judy's Story
Ok here's the story...
A few years after graduation I moved with a friend to Virginia to take advantage of their better job market. I found an Accounting job and have worked as an Accountant/Bookkeeper my entire career. I got married in 1987 and we had a daughter, Adrienna, in 1991. The marriage broke up in 2000 and I moved with Adrienna back to Champion to be closer to my family. My daughter started attending Champion schools in the 4th grade, just like I did-what a weird coincidence. She graduated from CHS in May 2009 and I cried throughout the entire ceremony. She graduated from the Savannah (Georgia) College of Art & Design and owns her own Virtual Assistant business specializing in marketing for the wedding industry, with a side business of her hand-made jewelry and pottery. She lives in Austin with her ridiculously spoiled cat and dog, both adopted and special needs of course, because that's the kind of wonderful person she is. She is beautiful and smart and funny and a very nice person and I can't help bragging about her.

actually worked for me--who knew?) and got remarried in 2006. He has 4 children and through them we have five grandsons, ages newborn to 18. Steve and I lived in Florida from late 2014 to early 2022, when we moved back to Ohio to be closer to our families.
After having a blast at our class's (belated) 40th reunion in October 2022, I suggested that we have monthly gatherings for anyone local -- as well as our classmates that travel to Champion periodically to visit their families and friends --to hang out and have fun together. We usually do dinner followed by drinks and dancing at a local club that plays our favorite music like 70's & 80's classic dance rock, but some months we have lunch instead, and recently a group met for early morning coffee and breakfast. I post the announcement for when/where we are meeting each month on our Facebook 1980 group page, and I usually remember to also post that same announcement to our Classmates conversation page. The gatherings are not exclusive to just the class of 1980 and we are happy to welcome any CHS alumni and their guests.
