Judy's Story
Life
After graduation in 1987, I enrolled at Frostburg State College-now-University. Higher education was high on my to-do list. Apparently though, not high enough, as I "took a break" in '89. Early in 1990, my to-do list soared to new heights when I went to work for an airline. Unfortunately, two years later, they took off without me and I found myself "grounded" for all of 2 weeks. Another airline quickly added me to their passenger list and, having decided I was still on break from college, I flew with them for the next 14 years. I had a brief lay-over of six months shortly after 9-11 and met my husband just before my scheduled "take-off" in March of 2002. We fell in love and married in 2004. ght then and there. My mom and her New Orleans-born-and-raised husband, and their Âkids (two dogs and two cats) came to live with us forÂ
awhile. With some sadness, and much joy (and a desire to keep my husband from strangling my mother and vice versa), I relinquished my free flight bennies on 9-11-05 to become a full time homemaker with hopes of becoming a stay-at-home mom. The home-making thing is great except, now, there is no excuse not to get the laundry done or have dinner on the table. Those are, however, my excuses for not getting the closets cleaned out or the mail sorted. =) We did experience a brief moment of sheer delight when we learned we were expecting a baby. Sadly, our baby girl arrived four months early. It was very difficult to say goodbye to her when we had only just said hello. But we were very fortunate with the great support system we had from doctors, family, and friends. We are still hopeful, and trying, to add to our family.
On that note, always know where your exits are and travel light.
