Judy's Story
After graduating from PNHS, I attended Alma College and got a secondary teaching certificate in math and French. I studied and lived in Paris for one semester. It was bizarre that my first semester French class in college was the same course/textbook that Louie Johnson taught at PNHS, so I had all the tests and all the notes.
I taught math and French at Harper Creek high school for about 7 years when they discovered that the school district was out of money, and had been for years. So I was laid off, and stayed home with my first daughter. I taught math at KVCC part time for a couple of years and took some data processing classes while out there. I was placed in an internship at Upjohn in the IT department and then was hired full time there, right after the birth of daughter #2.

or IT, so I was given lovely parting gifts in 2004. I pondered again what I wanted to be when I grew up, and trained as a tax preparer with H&R Block, learned search engine optimization for web marketing, taught Geometry to 8th graders at St. Monica, taught math at Glen Oaks CC, became an office manager for a friend's counseling business - all running simultaneously. I took a temp assignment at Greater Kalamazoo United Way in 2006, was hired full time, and have dropped all my other random jobs, except the office manager gig for my friend.
I married in 1977, divorced in 2001 and have 2 wonderful daughters. The youngest is getting married in September 2009.
I have a condo in Kalamazoo and an RV on the bluff of Lake Michigan in South Haven. I like to dance (line dancing and ballroom) and watch Tiger baseball.
