Judy's Story
Life
We currently live in Alturas, where we've been for 14 years. I worked for a moderately successful Start-up company in Sunnyvale, so we were able to purchase our home cash. I sure regret not cashing more of the stock in when it was "up"!! I am still married to Pat, it is 48 years this year (yikes!)
I managed to graduate from Whitworth College in Spokane in 1989 with a double major in Business Management and Accounting. I really enjoyed college and wish I had gone earlier, but I spent 9 years part time getting that degree while I worked FT and had 3 kids at home. I guess I always had to do things backwards.
I did work part-time for Lassen Community College (Susanville) as the Outreach Coordinator in Alturas until they close...Expand for more
d the office in 2009. It truly was a job I enjoyed. I looked around for another job, but they are scarce here and we decided we were ok financially and to let other's who desperately needed the work to have it. So I guess I am retired.
However, I have lots of hobbies, collecting (and using) antique sewing machine (my 1909 Singer 31-20 treadle in my picture is a favorite to sew on). I just got a rigid heddle loom and am trying to weave things now. Oh boy, it sure makes pretty stuff. I did not know how much I would enjoy creative pastimes when I was young, what a lot of time wasted!
Our 3 children live in different parts of the country, and I regret that my 2 grandchildren live in North Carolina, it is just too darn far away.
