Judy's Story
I now live back in Schererville after spending 30 years in San Antonio, TX and Sarasota, FL. I left in 1975 returned 2005. I miss Florida very much. Since moving here I went 2 years without a job. Used up all my savings, my house caught on fire in Oct 2007 and I had major medical bills from dashing in twice to save my 2 cats and 2 birds. Went to Loyola Burn Center for 5 days had some lung issues but am better now. Been back in the house for 1 year and adopted 3 older cats, 1 year old dog and 10 year old Sun Conure. I lost all my pets in the fire and had to do something for my guil...Expand for more
t so adopting others unwanted pets was my way of coping. Will never get over the loss of the pets I had though. My fault, left something on the stove and went outside and totally forgot. At least I had some insurance, big $1000. deductible, but insurance anyway= since the chopper ride from Comm Hosp to Loyola Hosp was $12,000.!!!
I should have trained as a pilot or Med Tech! Remember how painfully thin I was in school, I am now Painfully Fat!!! Suprised me too. Look out after 55-60! I told a co-worker I used to be tall, tan and thin. She responded well you're still tall anyway!
