Judy's Story

After graduation I attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. Many happy memories and friendships were made during my three years at UM. Summer of junior year I was married to Rich Huddleston, KHS '60 grad. After graduation from UM St.Louis, I was employed by our alma mater Kirkwood High School as a teacher in the Social Studies department. It was quite a different experience, interacting with Dutchek, the Dart (Herb Smith) Mrs Brooks, and many others as co workers. In1972 I gave up my job at KHS and started my life long job as a Mom! Rich and I moved to San Diego that year as well, and raised two children Lisa and Jason. Sadly, after 10 years of marriage we divorced and went our separate ways. Rich passed away in 1993. ife was good to me and I was able to have a second opportunity at marriage, with Ret Thompson. We had Morgan, who completed our "yours, mine and ours family" , bringing us to a total of 8 children. Seven of whom lived with us in a small town in the the Mountains of San Diego where we were blessed with a wonderful life. But, unfortunately our happiness was shattered when Ret was stricken by a terminal illness . The years since then have been filled with lots of hard work, both at work and home as a single mom. I returned to the St. Louis area, setteling in St Charles county, where I worked in sales for several major banks, before retiring last year from J. P. Morgan Chase bank. Can't wait to reconnect with '64 grads in October.
