Judy's Story

After graduating I continued on in "13th" grade at Bucks Community college. When I was into my second yr., my mother became very ill and I was forced to drop out to care for her. Mom passed away in 1977, and somehow I never made it back to school. I had already met my future husband and we quietly married in 1978. My only son, Christopher, was born in 81. I was divorced in 84. I started and ran my own house cleaning company untill 1996 when I sold out and became a personal assistant for a doctor and his ailing wife. Even though I am now retired . The good doctor has passed away, however his wife and I have developed a very close relationship, and she has become like a 2nd mother to me. It's funny how fate filled that empty spot for me! In 1998 I remarried. My husband Larry and I have been together for 12 years now. Besides my son Chris, I have 2 stepsons, Lance and Luke. Chris and Lance are both 27 now, working for different companies in the area (Chris is also a struggling musician waiting to make it big!) and the youngest, Luke is 21 and in his Junior year at Penn State studying to be an engineer like his Dad. We have a wonderful old farmhouse and 2 acres in Warminster. Now that I am retired I enjoy spending as much time as I can working in my garden and taking care of all my pets. Yes, I am probably going to be one of those crazy old ladies with a dozen cats! I own 7 at the moment. I was doing volunteer work for a cat rescue group for years, although I am not involved with them at the moment. The kids call me the Cat Whisperer! We also have a dippy black Lab and a cockatiel. (the bird was also a rescue dropped off to me........who would deliberatly bring a bird into a ho...Expand for more
use with 7 cats!) There is plenty of room on the farm and it's not a crowded as it might sound, but they all keep me busy. In the summer I like to spend as much time as I can down at the shore. My husband owns a property in Wildwood. I was always an Ocean City girl and I wasn't too keen on Wildwood at first (not as classy) but little by little Wildwood is really shaping up, alot of new building, lots of good restaurants and cool events The shore house is in a wonderful location., a block and a half from the boardwalk, pretty much in the center of town so it's within walking distance to almost everything. The first floor has 4 bedrooms, full bath, laundry room with washer (clothesline outback), fully equipped kitchen, air, cable, pull out sofa, front porch, off street parking and a fenced in backyard with a solar shower house. If anybody is interested in renting, contact me. We still have several weeks left open. We have a nice little apt. upstairs for ourselves, so we can come and go when we want. I still love to read, although theses days it's hard to find the time to indulge in a good book like I used to. I love to cook (which is good, because my boys love to eat!), and I still pick up a sketch pad or a paint brush from time to time for a little artistic release. Last fall I started going to the gym for strength training and pilaties. Gym was never my favorite in school and I'm not thrilled with the whole scene now, however this getting old stuff sucks, and doing these exercises seems to keep me running on all cylindes. Even though there have been plenty of ups and down over the past 35 years, life has been very good to me and I'm looking forward to whatever the future brings.
