Judy's Story
Right after graduating, I attended school at Aurora Tech Center to become a Respiratory Therapist. I moved to St. Paul, Minnesota for about 6 months and worked at St. Johns Hospital. I moved back to Aurora after realizing I was too attached to my family and happy life. I worked at King Soopers for 10 years.
I ventured to California with my first husband who graduated in 1974 from Central. We were married a day less than 2 years, bad times.... I wanted to go home but didn't want to be a failure in my parents eyes. I decided to stay in California., ending up in Bodega Bay CA. I met a commercial fisherman and figured out I was a natural! We fished for salmon, crab & herring for 12 years working our way up the Coast and ending up in Crescent City, CA.
We got married after a couple of years with marriage ending after 17 years. Parting of the waves so to speak. I stayed in Crescent City. I started my new career working as a correctional officer for the state.
I did try marriage one more time, raising two wonderful step sons but have resigned that I am still learning who I am and am just fine!
On a sad note, I lost both of my parents in 2007, 4 months apart. They still ...Expand for more
lived in the home that I was raised in Hoffman Heights. Their deaths devastated me but I was so grateful I had the ability to take 6 months off to care for and spend precious time with them before they passed. I never became the singer they thought I would become but I still sing.........
I've had a very interesting life and have done a variety of things. I am glad to be where I am in my life and enjoy the outdoors. It is so beautiful here in Northern California! Way North... with so many wonderful, beautiful things to see and do!
I love to take long walks on the beach, hikes in the Redwoods, fish in the river, sing of course and listen to all types of music. I do yoga for stress relief. Among my other favorite things is getting massages. I love a really delicious meal now and then like a steak. I
like to spend time with my close friends and visit my sisters and brother when I can. *update- I lost 2 sisters, a few years apart, so now it's just me, one sister & brother.
I hope this gives you a little run down on me and my life! I Hope you all are doing well and to remember to always be grateful every day for all that we have been given... And that we can survive the rest!
