Judy's Story

Life I graduated from Hillcrest and attended the University of Utah. I graduated from the U with a Bachelor's of Science in Anthropology and Biology. I married my high school sweet heart, Michael Kesler, right out of school and we are now going on 17 years of marriage. We have two children, 15 (Nikole) and 12 (Linzy), both girls. We are an adventuresome family, we relocated North to Alaska. We love to bicycle, hike, sea kayak and ski, and have even done some dog sledding. I work for the National Park Service in Resource Management, and Michael is in the US Air Force as a jet mechanic. I have always wanted to pedal my bicycle across the nation. In 1997 I flew to San Diego with my bicycle and pedaled the entire Southern border of the United States. I arrived in Jacksonville, Flor...Expand for more
ida 3200 miles and 35 days later. We are planning to pedal the North border of the US in 2003 with a group of friends. I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Engineering specializing in Geomatics at the University of Alaska. My job allows me to travel a great deal not only throughout bush Alaska, but also the lower 48. I hope to go to French Polynesia to map Cook's Bay with a group from Berkeley. My future holds more adventures. We are talking about flying two BMW motorcycles to the Northern most tip of the continent (Barrow, Alaska) and traveling to the Southern Most tip of South America. Someone in the family travels back to Utah at least once a year. We will always return to Utah, although not our home anymore (too many people), our family and friends are there.
