Judy's Story
I grew up in the little community of Standard, and had an idyllic childhood. The two belonged to the Pickering Lumber Co. and I can still remember where most of the families lived even though the town is gone.
Our folks all worked for the sawmill and they thought we were poof. Most of the kids thought we were rich. We had the woods outside our back gate and we didn't think about "owning" it. It was ours. We built forts, grew gardens, has swings in the oak trees, and generally played outside when we weren't in school. We were all in the same boat so to speak and all of the parents in town supported and encouraged us.

made tortillas, we know just where to hang out. The same for cookies, cornbread, and many other favorites. Any house was a safe refuge. On the other hand, all of the parents kept an eye on use, which wasn't always an advantage when we were up to mischief.
I attribute much of my social and emotional balance to a perfect childhood.
I always wanted to be a foreign language instructor when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
To let off steam, I will do something physical, swim, ride my bike, or walk.
I like to relax by reading, listening to music, or messing around on the computer.
