Jule's Story
I'm living in Brookings, OR close to the ocean. I've been a widow for almost 2 years. How strange it has been not having my "soul mate" and "best friend", quite the adjustment. My dog, Daisy, and I are walking old fools. I continue to walk on my treadmill 6 days a week and then take Daisy to our dog park where we walk every day and try to work up to my 6-7 miles per day. Weather permitting of course...living in the Pacific Northwest is a challenge with lots of rainy days.
My two daughters, Stephanie and Kristin, have given me 5 grandchildren. My oldest David will be 21 in April! Hard to believe he's that old, sure makes me old doesn't it? But then again, aren't we ALL getting old!
I hope our class will have a 50th reunion! I would definitely make it south for that! Hope everyone is healthy, happy and enjoying our "golden years".
7/2011.....Just found a part time job which I love! I actually get paid to go to the library for 3 hrs a day! Nine to noon which has poor Daisy at a complete loss. We still get to the park on the weekends and will be able to go down in the afteroons during the fall and winter months. Took a trip south to Thousand Oaiks in June. My older brother and sister-in-law celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. What a magical weekend! The whole Johnson family together, first time in such a looooong time.
New update! Where does the time go....it is now Sept. 23 and so much had happened. Went to Mesa, AZ for my one and only Granddaughters' wedding! What an exceptional wedding and so much love with all the family and friends! It's now Sept. 24 and more changes. I have put my home here in Brookings, OR up for sale. I'll be moving further south! Hard to believe I'm actually moving back into Calif. So...Lake Nacimiento here I come. Can't wait, I am so looking forward to this move. Not only will I be closer to Stephanie and Keith , I'll be within hours of more family and many...Expand for more
friends farther south! All my VNHS friends.....get ready!
Oct. 2012
A new chapter has begun! I met a very nice gentleman on Oct. 1st. and we have either seen each other or talked on the phone every day! He is the nicest guy and I enjoy his company so much. He loves to dance, hold hands, go places and explore and even likes working on jigsay puzzles! How lucky to meet another soul mate at this pont in my ife. I'm going to enjoy it and "go with the flow" for however long it lasts!
New update- It's now Sept. 1, 2015! My have things changed. Still hard to believe that my husband has been gone since May of 2009. My "friend" passed after being a 40 yr. cancer survivor. What a shame, he was such a nice man. No one new has entered my life so I continue working at the library, and still love it by the way! Have been on a few "road trips", the last one was just last month. I drove down and picked up Lynda Busse and then we drove to my oldest daughter, Stephanie, who lives at Lake Nacimiento which is just outside of Paso Robles. She and her love, Keith, took us to see Jackson Browne! What a special weekend! Now I am back at work and waiting for Lynda Busse to drive up for her "ocean" fix. She will be here in a couple of weeks! Yay!! Daisy and I continue our walks either on the beach or next to it and the boat basin. It helps me keep my weight down and I still do like my beer! Love to hear from some old friends that I was lucky to see at our VNHS W'63 50th Reunion!
And now here we are in 2021 and all of us old classmates are turning 76!!! Oh my! Still here at Lake Nacimiento, with the lake at 37% of full. Not going to be a year being out on the lake. The launch ramp here at Heritage Ranch will not be usable even for the July 4th holiday....
Flying to AZ first week of June to help celebrate my second Great Grand Noah's 1st birthday. Hope everyone survived 2020 without to many heartaches, fortunately I did.
