Juli's Story
Who am I, really? I guess I'm a country girl! I live on a 9,000-acre beef cattle ranch with my husband, Ken, and our 16-year old son, Jordan. Our daughter, Tessa,19, attends cosmetology school in Idaho. This school year will be my 25th year of teaching in a very small school; this year, I'll have eleven students in my K-2 class.
My town, Jordan Valley, is located in southeastern Oregon, 400 miles from Troutdale. We're 18 miles out of town, and I drive 80 miles for groceries! The country here is high desert; we're spoiled with space and peacefulness. Lots of deer, antelope, rattlesnakes (I've killed three in my yard), coyotes and the occasional mountain lion.

tries. This summer, my mom and I explored Maine and Nova Scotia. My favorite trip was to France, where we rented a car and I drove about 2,000 miles.
My husband is a rancher/farmer/cowboy who rarely leaves the ranch. The life of a rancher revolves around water/weather, and the care and feeding of the cows, of which we have about 1,000. Jordan works hard, too, when he's not off visiting his girlfriend. He's on the football team and is very involved with FFA. Tessa is a sweetheart! She'll graduate beauty school in October, and so is wondering where/how to begin life in the real world.
Hope to hear from some of you folks! I can't believe it's been nearly thirty years since we graduated...we're not really that old, are we?!
