Julianne's Story
Life
After a couple of years in San Diego as a business major, and one year in Chico as an Anthropology major, I came back to the Bay Area and finished up a B.A. in English and Creative Writing at SFSU. I went directly on to Mills College where I earned an MFA in English and Creative Writing and was co-founder of 580 Split, the graduate literary magazine at Mills.
I have been married since July of 2000 and moved from San Francisco to East Palo Alto in order to be closer to work...Expand for more
and family. I have a daughter, born in 2002, and a son, born in December 2005.
I am a published writer, primarily as a poet, and currently co-edit Rainbow Curve, a joint-effort literary magazine started with my partner-in-crime from Mills, and co-founder of 580 Split, Daphne Young.
I also run Hapa Nui, a literary magazine where readers vote for stories, poems and art pieces on-line. The pieces with the most accumulated votes appear in the print issue which appears in January.
