Julie's Story

Anyone who knows me knows that I never stayed in one (1) place too long - I attended three (3) high schools to graduate because I was constantly moving between Anchorage and New Orleans. I started college in Louisiana, and obtained my Associate of Science degree in California. Not necessarily by choice, I spent the majority of my adult life in Southern California. It was fun when I was single - close to Vegas, Mexico, and San Francisco. Once I got married, I wanted to leave the "fast lane" of Los Angeles. Wound up divorced when my daughter, Cecilia, was two (2) years old. Returned to the work force out of necessity, and worked my way up from receptionist in a law firm to paralegal. We ultimately moved to Virginia when Cecilia was ten (10) years old after taking a three (3) week road trip cross country to visit family and friends. I recently remarried in 2005. My husband is an industrial electrician specializing in corrugators, and together, we run a company he started in California (he followed me to Virginia ;) We're currently house searching in Louisville - want a change of scenery, one that includes a decent airport since he travels so much for work and me for fun! Also would like to have access to theater and art galleries without having to spend a weeke...Expand for more
nd in D.C. or New York. My daughter is now 19, graduated high school last year, and is completing her second semester of college. We have two (2) pound puppies, and a stray cat. Keep wanting to find my way back to Anchorage for a visit . . . but this May we're traveling to Italy. There's always next year . . . 3/7/08 - update: We closed on a house today in Louisville. Will be making the actual move after we return from Italy! 12/5/08 - And the saga continues . . .took forever, other events prevented us from moving right away, but we finally made our official move to Kentucky on August 29, 2008. Took the dogs awhile to realize this was now home - kept going to the garage door to jump back in my truck for the return to Virginia ;)One of the events was an unofficial class reunion with some friends that have settled in Seattle. Had a great time reconnecting with lost friends! My daughter opted to move into an apartment with a friend - so she remained in Virginia. Miss having her around. Husband still traveling extensively, but able to come home more frequently since we're more centrally located now. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Debbie Hummel, because we were good friends, and none of our common friends know where she is now.
