Julie's Story
Life
My husband Jim and I had a Renaissance Wedding in August 2000. We moved to West Virginia where we study brains with fMRI. Specifically, I study meditation, and in October 2004 we went to a meditation conference in India where we got to see the Dalai Lama.
Workplace
My first job was at the Manitowoc police department when I was 14. I also worked in the Mayor's office, making garland at Santa's best, maintaining trails for the DNR, making rea...Expand for more
gents and counting the wiggles of microscopic worms for a lab in college, washing dishes in a cafeteria, and, for the last 8 years, neuroscience. My last post-doc was studying the brains of Tibetan monks at UW Madison. There are two pubs of this research - a search on my name should find them if you're really interested. One's on Concentration meditaiton and one is on Compassion meditation. Now I'm studying the neural correlates of face processing.
