Julie's Story
Back in high school I decided I wanted to be a pediatric nurse. I received my BSN from CSULB and years later did a short stint in adult medical-surgical nursing after moving to Colorado. I then spent three years working in an elementary school as the school nurse, which reaffirmed my desire to work with children.
After taking a seven year hiatus to stay home with my daughter, I returned to nursing last year. I currently work on the surgical floor of The Children's Hospital of Denver and can honestly say I have found my dream jo...Expand for more
b! We care for children after all types of surgery. I work in a fabulous place where medical miracles happen daily.
While I was staying home with my daughter, I helped my husband run his construction company, did in-home day care and worked part time at The Home Depot (I am the paint goddess!).
I hope to save enough money over time to go on medical missions to help the needy and under-served in third world coulntries. My biggest dream would be to help out in an AIDS camp in Africa in honor of my best friend who died from AIDS.
