Julie's Story
Life
I went to the University of Alabama and graduated in 1979. Didn't get a wonderful job and bummed around, doing what I could get paid for. I got married to a Black Bear from the class of 1974 and stayed that way for 26 years. Now I live with the three cats in a log cabin deep in the woods, far on the other side of the county from Northport. I found relatively secure employment at Bryce Hospital. (I know- keep away from the guys with the butterfly nets.) I never had any children. I finally learned how to drive right around the time I turned 30. Now I drive a small car with a stick shift. When I do something, I don't mess around. My favorite leisure activity besides fooling around on the electronic box here is reading, especially literate murder mysteries and suspense novels. If somebody doesn't get killed, it ain't worth it. I also like to travel, and I can't say I've been many exotic and faraway places, since I don't have much money and I have to work for what I've got. But I do like to ...Expand for more
go out West, to northern Arizona and New Mexico, and to St. Augustine, my favorite part of Florida. As for Disney World and Las Vegas, I am happy to say of both of them that I've been there once, so thank God I never have to go back.
I put Tuscaloosa High on here because I went up through seventh grade with a lot of people who went to T-High, and I know a few of the people my age who went to school there; "we went to different schools together." In fact, I went to a reunion there with the Black Bear one time, and I knew more people there than he did. As you can see, I went to just about every junior high that was available.
I'm surprised anybody remembers me from back in school days - they weren't my favorite time. I spent a lot of them suffering from depression, hiding in the corner and trying to mind my own business. As I remember it. Being tortured by certain P.E. teachers was high on the list, too. But it's always a blast from the past when I see or hear from somebody after nearly 35 years.
