I went to UCLAÂs School of Theatre, Film and Television right after HS (and changed my name to my middle name, Leolani, something I'd been wanting to do for a long time!). I then discovered my long-lost childhood, and realized the tuition was just too high for me to be skipping so many classes! But I've got my degree now, so no harm, no foul, right? I did a lot of directing and producing after dropping out, and finally decided to go back to get my degree so that I could enroll in Graduate Film School. At HPU in Hawaii I met my husband (Derek), missed the deadlines for Grad School applications, did random jobs purely for money, and then got pregnant before the next round of deadlines. So, one day...
I'm a stay-at-home Mom right now, taking a break from the rat race. It's the hardest but most rewarding job I've ever had (I keep telling myself over, and over, and...), and I sometimes have to remind myself that staying home is a luxury not everyone can afford, and to enjoy every minute. I just signed up for the Reunion web site, too, am not sure which has more traffic, but since weÂre finally selling our Tahoe cabin and I literally have no connection left to Rocklin/Roseville, I started getting rather nostalgic. I posted basically the same info there (sometimes word-for-word, gotta love copy and paste!). I know I spent so much time in HS being more of a Ânon-person than anything, trying to figure out who I was, not really fitting in, trying too hard, etc. As one classmate told me years later, "Wow, you have a personality! How come you didn't share that with anyone back in high school!?" I was too busy trying to fit everyone's perceptions/ideals as well as finding my own limits that I was pretty mixed up. Who wasnÂt, right? Now, all these years later, IÂm finding that there are a lot of things I actually miss, and would really love to hear from any of you! Living in Las Vegas we tend to get a lot of company, but are always happy to have more, so let me know if you're in our "neck of the woods," our house has a pretty much "open door" policy!
