Julie's Story
Life
After I graduated from Rio Lindo Academy in 1993, I went to PUC for my freshman year, 1993-1994. I just took the general education courses that year, and spent some of my extra time being involved in the dramatic arts society. I played in, "The Importance of being Ernest" and a musical "Showboat". After my freshman year, I was going to go back for my sophomore year, but decided to go on a long road trip with my cousin Bobby Kalua and good friend Nicky Ortiz. I went through this whole spiritual "Adventist" revelation thing, and thought that "finding God" was all I really needed. After I came back from that trip in January 1995 I found myself floundering and feeling disillusioned by what I thought I had learned about God and life and I began to discover that Adventism and Reality don't mix very well. I then decided that since I could not seem to be spiritual on my own power that I would go to school some where that required me to be spiritual, so I packed up and went to Weimar College for my sophomore year. That lasted until spring of 1996. I discovered that an environment doesn't equal a spiritual life, and I was tired of all the pressure of being Weimar perfect and "working my way to heaven". I then moved back to Angwin with my parents, and fell in Love with my husband. I Married Ray Manuel on September 14, 1997, and gave birth to my first Son in January 2000. My second son was born July 2002. Kendall is now 5 and Cory is almost 3. Finally after 10 years of really not knowing what I wanted to do with myself career wise, I discovered that I really liked photography, but didnÂt realize thatÂs what I should have been doing all along. I went back PUC in 2002 when my youngest was 3 mont...Expand for more
hs old and graduated with my Associates in Photography this past June 2004. Since I have moved away from Angwin and grown up a heck of a lot over the past ten years I have discovered that there are other beliefs out there that make a lot of sense. I have been studying Astrology on my own, and I am appreciating a new viewpoint and aspects on who I am, who my friends really are, meaning of time and how astrology plays a role in reality and life. I don not consider myself to be ÂAdventistÂ. I believe that there is a higher power that watches over us, I believe in being kind and treating my fellow man with the same respect that I expect. I believe in helping those that are less fortunate then I am, and Most of all I believe in being friends with people regardless of their background and what they believe in.
Photography is my passion, I love taking pictures, I love meeting new and interesting people and capturing their true essence with my camera. Its what I do, besides being a fulltime mom, I could not ask for a more rewarding career for myself. After I graduated, we moved down to the South Bay Area
to Sunnyvale CA. I am currently at home with my boys. My husband works for the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center for the Department of Energy. I am currently building up my portfolio of work and am planning on starting my photography business over the next few months. When I have my website up again, I'll put in a link so that those of you, who are active on here, will be able to take a look at my work. I would love to hear from anyone on here and catch up with whats going on with any of you! You can email directly at: my first name, k "at sign" g as in go, mail as in post office, dot com.
