Julie's Story
Life
I have two daughters that have now graduated from college and are out of the house establishing their own adult lives. My older daughter, Brianne, is married and has a son, Landon. I have been married to the same man for more than 35 years. We have one basset hound and 2 cats.
I am the Director of Alumn Relations for Park University. It's a real blast!
College
I started out at Drury College in Springfield, MO. I only stayed one semester. I transferred to William Jewell in Liberty. I lived at home while I saved money to get married.
I got married between Fall and Spring semesters, 1973. So, except for the first semester I was always a commuter. I attended college on a 4-year academic scholarship from the American Can Company and worked full time. I was determined t...Expand for more

I am working on an masters degree at Park Univesity right now.
Workplace
I was a business and real estate broker for almost twenty years. I owned my own brokerage firm for several years.
In 2001 I became the alumni director at Park University, in Parkville. I grew up in Parkville and feel closer to the school than any school I attended. As kids, my sisters and friends swam in the pool, played on the athletic fields, used the library, sneaked into the observatory, shopped the bookstore, bowled in the bowling alley and went to the movies in Alumni Hall. I attended UN Day and dated the boys. My high school teachers, neighbors and friends graduated from Park. Park has always been home.
I am now working on a masters degree in communication arts at Park.
