Julie's Story

October 2015 - I have 2 new grandsons from my daughter. Twins!!! I now have 4 grandchildren. It's been a good year watching my family grow. Not looking to forward to 2016 and the age of 60 but what can you do it beats the alternative. I feel like a 35 year old stuck in someone else's body haha. Well that's what life is about, I earned every laugh line, worry wrinkle and buckets of tears whether they were happy or sad. It's all good. Feeling blessed everyday. September 2013 - moved to Gilroy, Ca due to my husband taking a job in San Jose. I am now semi-retired but I have started my own consulting business which keeps me busy a couple days a week. It is definetly different out here. I travel back to Orange County at least once a month since all my family is there. My last child is 16 now. Still riding my motorcycle and enjoying the new countryside. June 2011- I beat my MS it didn't beat me! I have resumed all "normal" activity and even rode my bike to Laughlin in April. That was an accomplishment for me. My daughter is getting married this month and we are looking forward to the event. When it's your only daughter, well you can imagine. I have a new grandson (1 year) so that makes two for me. But I imagine that will soon change. I am grateful for my family and life is good, no drama, what else can you ask for. July 2010 - It has been a year since I was diagnosed with Multiple Schlerosis MS, it affected my sight in one eye. I was devasted, but I learned to come to terms with it, what else can one do, right? It's ok, I have adapted, I am still working and do everything I did before and maybe a little more. I try to get in more bicycling now and hope to ride in the MS Bike 30 mile fund raiser in Carlsbad this October. Another one of lifes lessons. Appreciate what you do have. Health and family is everything. I had a lot of support from friends and family and as always that's what gets you through. I have a new grandson Mason, he's five months old now. I am still blessed to have my father who is doing fantas...Expand for more
tic. Trying to get back on my motorcylce, more adaptation, but I will do it, cause I still love the wind in my face. June 09 - Doing alright working and living here in Irvine. Work for Kia Motors, not a great time for the auto industry but we are doing ok. Going t be a grandma for the 2nd time, very cool. Grandma is still weird to me considering I have an 11 year old still, but it's my legacy. Making some really nice connections with people from school. The most pleasant things is finding out everyone is still really nice, no matter what life has dealt. I find it nice to go back to the root of our young lives, it explains a lot about us. It's riding time, yeah.....Julie February 09 - Just for fun All is well for once in my life. Family is all well, we are all working which in these tough times is huge. Having a "girls" weekend soon with Anna, Georgeann and Diane to catch up on everything! We are looking forward to it. It's important to make the extra effort and keep in touch which is what we are doing after sharing the sad news about Gino Marciellano passing away recently. You think people will always be there, but most of us know we only have today. So the best thing to come out of "Classmates" is meeting up with the girls for a weekend of fun. Don't know if I will share that info or not, we'll see :). Life Just remarried in September 07. He is a kind and wonderful man who knows all about me and loves me for me. What more can you ask for in a relationship. 3rd time is the charm :) 3 kids from Greg Dahlgren class of 71. 1 son from 2nd marriage (widowed). I like to ride my 90 Heritage Softail with my dad (80yrs young). Dad still lives in SFS by SF High. Lots of drama in my life over the years, but all that matters is I got through it with the love and support of my family. My kids are the ones who have made the journey over the rough roads worth it. Have been living and working in the OC for the last 15 years. Life is calmer now, thank god. Today is all we have, enjoy it while it lasts. Peace out.
