Julie's Story
Since high school graduation back in 1988 time seems to have flown by, but then again looking back it seems so long ago.
After high school I went directly into the workforce. I waitressed a little bit then when I turned 18 I went to work at M. Wile. I worked there as a seamstress and then supervisor for almost eight years. M. Wile closed-up shop and I went back to school. I went to college at Erie Community College from 1997-1999. I recieved my associates degree in Dietetic Technology. As an adult student I excelled and graduated with honors. I was also chosen for a "who's who in Junior college" award.
In 2000, I passed the national registration exam to become a registered dietetic technician. I have worked with children to the elderly.
I have been working at the Chautauqua County Home since 2005. Prior to that I worked out in the Buffalo area. Currently, I am in the process of obtaining my CDN liscense for New York State. At the home, I work with the elderly and find it extremely rewarding. In addition to that I am a consultant for nutrition related projects for Nasco, a teaching aid development company. I have done a food safety project that was released October 2008, so that is very exciting
So, that is my work history. Right af...Expand for more
ter high school, I met my now husband Bruce. We have been a couple since 1989 and we were married in Las Vegas Nevada, July 20, 1994.
Over the years, we have been through a lot, but then who hasn't? We waited a while to be parents and we welcomed Lily into our lives November 2006.
She has brought so much happiness and joy to our lives. She is an extremely happy and smart little girl. Everything I do, I do for her. She is everything.
As far as the 20 year reunion, my husband and I were able to go to the reunion dinner, which was very nice. I enjoyed seeing everyone again. I struggled trying to remember everyone's name, so next time I will prime myself by reviewing the year book, but it was a good time.
Its events like a reunion that makes one stop and think about where you have been, what you have accomplished, and where do you want to go? At this time in my life, I want to be the best Mom to Lily. I want to raise her to be strong and independent woman.
Lessons of life. If you are going to do something--take your time and do it right. Time is our friend. Treat people as though you would like to be treated. Silence is sometimes the best answer. Live, laugh and love.
Look me up on facebook as I am there more than here.
